Book Beginnings – Persepolis and Essex Serpent

persepolis

This is from a graphic novel Persepolis by Marjane Satrape I just finished. This is the first frame in the first chapter called ‘The Veil”.

I have just started Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. This is the first line. Although it’s not very impressive, this book has great reviews.

A young man walks down by the banks of the Blackwater under the full cold moon.

  1. I loved Persepolis and hope you did too. I haven’t yet read Perry’s book, but, like you, I have heard such great things about it. I hope you enjoy that one! I do want to read it one of these days. Have a great week!
