My Ring…finally!!!

DSCN0622_new

I hope it’s visible, you could click to enlarge if you want to. It’s basically 2 rows of very tiny diamonds with a slightly larger diamond in the center.

This is my Mangalsutra, another essential in a Hindu wedding (except South India, I think). I also spend a lot of time getting the correct one.

I just thought I would do a quick post before rushing out again. How are you all?

  1. Nice, very nice ! The mangalsutra only looks different amongst South Indians.. It is the most important ritual of the wedding all India.

  2. And where are the pics of the saris and all that?! God ain’t the date kind of very close! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

The ring is b’ful.. and I love your hands, ong fingers and all that… mine are horrible ๐Ÿ™‚

OoH! And in S Indian weddings, we have “tali” and is threaded to a silk thread that the guy puts on the wedding day and then on the 3ed day we transfer the tali to another chain. The tali in Kerala is basically a leaf kind of small locket.

  3. Beautiful ring and Mangalsutra!

BTW, I wear 2 pairs of platinum studs on my ears. And if anyone says “are those silver?” I simply smile and don’t answer. I know those are platinum and thats what is important. Go for what you wish for or like. Not what othes might think!

    My two penny bit!

    1. If I would have wished for platinum badly I would have gone for it no matter what ๐Ÿ™‚ But I am partial to gold too. Besides, there’s hardly anything visible other than the diamonds, making it in platinum looked like waste of money to me.

  4. The ring is really pretty! And mangalsutra is prevalent among South Indians too, isn’t it? It’s actually not common among Bengalis; I haven’t seen any Bengali wearing it.
