For something different, I’m borrowing a question from … here! One of the very first questions ever at Booking Through Thursday. Back from 2005 when Laura owned the blog but, because it was so new, it didn’t get as many responses as it does now … so, why not revisit?
Here’s the question:
Some people read one book at a time. Some people have a number of them on the go at any given time, perhaps a reading in bed book, a breakfast table book, a bathroom book, and so on, which leads me to…
1. Are you currently reading more than one book?
2. If so, how many books are you currently reading?
3. Is this normal for you?
4. Where do you keep your current reads?
I don’t have much to say about this because I never read more than one book at a time. Although I guess I could alternate between a novel and a short stories book. The thing is I hardly get more than 2 hours per day to read. Sometimes even less. And I don’t feel like alternating. I might carry a book of short stories with me when I go out. But generally I just take along the book I am currently reading.
Sometimes you might see 2 books in the currently reading section on the left side of my blog. But that’s generally because I read one of the books really quickly. But I still like to see it in that section.
Are you currently reading more than one book?
No
If so, how many books are you currently reading?
Not applicable 🙂
Is this normal for you?
Not applicable 🙂
Where do you keep your current reads?
I keep my current read next to my bed.
This feels like filling an application form. Do you read more than one book at a time?

I have a couple of awards 🙂
The Premiodardos award is from Melody and Dot. Thank you so much.
The next award, which I think is very interesting, is ‘Let’s be friends’ award. This one is from Medical Librarian. Thanks so much.
I don’t think I will be passing on these awards. I would have liked to pass it to the 217 blogs I have in my Google reader. But oh well, I can’t type them all here.
Congrats on the awards 😀
I do wonder how it comes that some like to read many books, and some just one. I like my many cos then I can shift books according to my mood

oh no, I would love to read 10 books at a time if I could 🙂
It’s just that I cannot, it would confuse me…

Congrats on the awards! They’re all well-deserved! 🙂
The most I can read is 2 books. Any more than that will be too confusing for me, LOL.

Same here, confusing as hell for me, but I am going to try and read short stories along with a novel. That should work fine, I think. I hope 🙂

I used to be terrible for having loads of books on the go at once… Now I discipline myself to finish what I’m reading before starting that new book I’m desperate to get going on!
I nearly always carry my book with me – you never know when you might get an unexpected 20 minutes to yourself to read another chapter or two!

Hi Violet 😀 To answer your question on how I keep the stories seperate, I don’t read more than one of the same type of book at a time, I wouldn’t read Bronte and Austen at the same time, which helps a great deal. Also, I read each book in its own place or time.=, with the kids in the kitchen after dinner, for instance. The context in which a book’s read keeps it seperate, too.
Congrats on your awards 😀

hmmm…but then doesn’t it happen that sometimes you are so enchanted or engrossed in a book that you have to read what happens next? How do you switch books in such cases?

I read one book at a time, too. Congratulations on your award!

I can’t seem to read one book at a time. After a few chapters, I am ready for something different.

I prefer to read one at a time as well, although I will read a non-fiction book along with a fiction one. Like you, I don’t get much time each day to read, so I like to stay monogamous to one book.

I take the current book with me wherever I go. I hate to be without a book when, say, I’m waiting in line at the bank or car wash.

What a lovely short meme for you! I’m usually a one-book reader too.

I’m the same way – only one book at a time!

I tend to read on book at a time too. Occasionally I may juggle two, but that depends on the book.

I generally like to read one at a time but find myself reading more than one quite often. But when I do read more than one they are completely different types of books. That way I don’t get confused.
Mine’s up…come on over!

Congrats on the awards!
I read three books which are in different formats: 1 print, 1 audio, and 1 ebook. But they are all of different genres so that I don’t mix them up. I switch between them according to both what I want to read right now and also what I’m doing. For example, I usually listen to the audio book when I’m out doing errands and also when I’m mindlessly clicking through the games and other applications in Facebook ( 😉 ).
Thanks for visiting my blog!

hmmm…makes sense, I don’t know why but I just cannot get into audio books.
