It’s 5.30 in the evening in India and yes this is my first Readathon post.
We went to watch Julie and Julia at 2.00 pm which is an awesome movie. I was afraid I wouldn’t reach home on time. But here I am. I can’t find my initial Readathon books so I have selected new ones. As Care says “thank goodness for a very high stack of want-to-read books!” 🙂
Watching Julie and Julia has made me real hungry so my sis is cooking masala rice…yum and some hot tea after that.
Oh yes, these are my snacks for the Readathon. It includes maggie of course. I’m most excited about eating butter pepper popcorn 🙂
And this is the book I’m starting with.
The book of a thousand days by Shannon Hale which also happens to be my first book by this author.
I will post updates every one hour or 2 hours, I think, but Twitter will be running in the background 🙂
3 facts about me …
I live in India
I am a software engineer
I’m getting married in November 🙂
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
I don’t know, so far I’m eying 3 books atleast…hopefully.
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
Nope, no goals, I just want to read as much as I can and enjoy myself with the others.
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Nope, just taken part in last Readathon but yeah…have fun 🙂
Yay! Let the games begin. 🙂 Oh, and your snacks look great. Makes me hungry just looking at them.
Yay! Have fun 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Those snacks look like they could tide me over for a read-a-thon, too 🙂 I didn’t realize your wedding was THAT close. Have fun prepping!
Glad you made it! Happy reading. I can’t wait to read what you think of your book.
Looks like you’re all set! Happy reading!
I am Louise and I am in Denmark where it is 4:14 PM right now. I hope you will have much fun during the Read-a-Thon and that you will get a lot of reading done 🙂
I’ve never read any books by Shannon Hale, either. Hope you enjoy it!
Oh I highly recommend Shannon Hale. She’s an awesome author.
Good luck with your readathon. Great books, good snacks. It looks like it’s going to be fun!
I hope you have a fun time, Violet! Looks like you are well prepared. 🙂
Have fun with The Book of a Thousand Days! I read it last week and enjoyed it very, very much.
Welcome to the read-a-thon! Enjoy these first few hours-they’ll fly by! I’m sure you’ll do great. 😀
Love the pics Violet. But make sure you eat some healthy food too! lol
Traditional read-a-thon blessing:
May the bookshelf be there to greet you.
May all the books appeal.
May the fridge be full of tasty snacks;
the words fall soft upon your eyes and until the read-a-thon ends,
may you always hold a book in the palm of your hand.
Good luck today!
I don’t know that book of Shannon Hale’s, but you’ve reminded me I wanted to ask my daughter if she can find any of her Shannon Hale books to add to my shelves :-).
Taking a break from reading to say – have a great day and have fun!
Good luck, hun. Will be following your updates. 😀 I’m loving the look of your snacks – that picture made me all hungry hehe.
I’ve heard good things about Shannon Hale but never read anything. Hope you enjoy. 😀
I hope you’re having fun with the read-a-thon!
I enjoyed that book by Shannon Hale and I hope you do too. 😀
