But then there are books that only YOU read. Instructional manuals for fly-fishing. How-to books for spinning yarn. How to cook the perfect souffle. Rebuilding car engines in three easy steps. Dog training for dummies. Rewiring your house without electrocuting yourself. Tips on how to build a NASCAR course in your backyard. Stuff like that.
What niche books do YOU read?
That’s a tough question with an embarrassing answer. I don’t think I read any Niche books. At least I can’t recall any.
I read books on Business Intelligence, its technical, something I work in, does it count?
Wait…I have a book on Kathak. I haven’t read the entire book but I guess it does count. For those who don’t know Kathak is a classical dance form. This book was given to me by my Dance Teacher; I don’t think it’s available in bookstores. But I do surf other books on Kathak in bookstores.
Oh…yes, one more. I own a couple of sketching books. One I remember is Fundamentals of Drawing. It teaches you how to sketch using pencils and color pencils too. It’s really cool. So yes, I do read such books too.
I have a book on witchcraft spells and occult. Don’t worry I don’t practice it; it’s just something I find very interesting 🙂
I don’t seem to recall anything else.
What about you? What niche books do YOU read?
I had no trouble at all answering that. My most used cookbooks are my Vietnamese ones, and I’m always reading up on anything Vietnam-related.
I do have a magic book, the one by Lady Sheba… can’t think of the name of it off hand… and a few tarot books.

One time I had a lot of books on palmistry and numerology. I gave those all away!

My friend has a lot of books on witchcraft but it’s mostly very educational.
Sketching & drawing books number the most in my collection as well. 🙂

Mine are mainly cookery books but I have quite a selection of other types too.

I enjoy reading non-fiction in general and my interests tend to vary over time. At the moment I’m reading sewing, cooking, Australian history and, thanks to my son, books about railways and steam engines. I quite like reading maths books as well.
My daughter loves to draw/sketch and we love reading art books and drawing books together.

I had a tough time answering this one, I admit. My husband would better be able to answer it, I think, but I don’t think I could get him to play along. LOL

I had a problem with this question too. I didn’t think I had any niche books, but then I remembered my cat books 🙂

I think those count, yes. As for me…hm, books on books (not much of a niche, though :P), social history, books about fairy tales, myth and folklore, and that’s all I can think of.

I wouldn’t mind taking a look at the witchy book, not that I practice anything like that. 🙂
My niche is up at The Burton Review.

I have a lot of art/sketch books form when I was in school, but I haven’t read them in a long time. I remember my classmates always used to be surprised I would actually read all the text! They mostly referred to the pictures, I guess. Not many readers.

I don’t remember the name, I haven’t browsed thru’ it for a long time. But it has the history of witchcraft, descriptions of all the herbs used for it and some spells. It’s very interesting.
