I saw this over at Shelley’s, and thought it sounded like a great question for all of you:
“This can be a quick one. Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.”
Okay, here we go
1. Kite Runner
2. A thousand splendid suns
3. Rebecca
4. Gone with the wind by Margaret Mitchell
5. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
6. Congo by Michael Crichton
7. Shantaram by Gregory David
8. Island of Blood by Anita Pratap
9. Not without my daughter by Betty Mahmoodi
10. Do They Hear You When You Cry by Fauziya Kassindja
11. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
12. Legends of Pensam by Mamang Dai
13. A long way home by Ishmael Beah
14. Nefertiti by Michele Moran
15. Diary of Anne Frank
I took only 10 mins I swear. I’m sure I have missed many books that I would have added if I had the time. But this too was fun. This is going to be an interesting BTT.
What about you?
P.S. Please do me a huge favour and comment with your blog links on this post. I’ll be very grateful 🙂
Oh, I forgot Jane Eyre. And Rebecca. Will have to add some of yours to my TBR! Here is mine: http://sandcastlesgreenballoons.blogspot.com/2009/06/booking-through-thursday-15-sticky.html

I haven’t heard of 8, 10, 12, or 13. Are they worth reading?
LikeLike
Oh…yes, most definitely
Island of Blood is a little specific to India. But 10, 12 and 13 are great.
Do They Hear You When You Cry is a memoir and is based on a landmark refugee case in the US. A long way home is about a child soldier in Sierra Leone.

Great list! I almost included Anne Frank and GWTW on mine, too. It was really hard limiting myself to just fifteen books. My post is here:

15 is not enough! I didn’t put down either of Hosseini’s books, and both will stick with me forever. Some of your books are on Mt. TBR, too. 🙂

I saw Nefertiti at the bookstore and really wanted to read it, but then I forgot all about it. I’ll have to remember to pick it up this time. 🙂
You’ve never read Stranger in My Arms?? That’s one of Kleypas’ best books! You should definitely check it out.

The bookstores here don’t stock a lot of Lisa Kleypas books. Every month I go there to see if they have a new book by her. If they do, I pick it up without a second thought. I’m sure this book will turn up some day 🙂
