A new Tag – on Books

I read this tag on some random blog, and I am going to attempt it.

Don’t laugh at anything I have read and say ‘How could you?’ OR don’t laugh at anything I haven’t read and say ‘How couldn’t you?’
I generally don’t read a lot of heavy stuff unless it is a memoir. I also don’t read self-help books, so no mention of those here too.

Book(s) that changed your life/thinking: Life Ahead: None so far, that makes me look pretty bad huh? But seriously no book has affected me that much.
Maybe you can suggest some book unless it is one of those ‘How to make friends…, How to be happy…’ and stuff.
And no ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ too.

Book(s) that mirror(ed) your life: None. Sadly my life is not as interesting. Maybe a paragraph here or there.

Book(s) you’ve read more than once:
Little Girl- Patricia Hermes.
Shantaram- Gregory David Roberts.
Island of blood – Anita Pratap
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austin

Book(s) you’d take to a deserted island:
Shantaram and some nice thick chick lit.

Book(s) that made you laugh:
Inscrutable Americans – Anurag Mathur
Dress your family in corduroys and denims – David Sedaris

Book(s) you were surprised you loved:
Tenth Circle – Jodi Picoult (I was told this is an absolute let down. Glad I didn’t listen to any of them).
Do They Hear You When You Cry – Fauziya Kassindja

Book(s) you wish you had written: Shantaram and Inscrutable Americans.

Book(s) you wish had never been written:
Samira and samir – I really don’t remember why I picked this book. I think I liked the story and the cover page. That’s usually how I buy my books.
But after the first chapter and I shut the book never to open it again. That’s the only book I would love to donate. But on second thoughts, naah… Why inflict the same torture on others?
Also ‘That thing called love’ Well, never been written is too extreme but I didn’t like this book either.

I generally don’t read more than one book at a time, but I couldn’t decide. Both books are so far absolutely brilliant btw.

Suzzanne’s diary for Nicholas – Jeffery Archer (re-read)
Little Woman – Louisa May Alcott
The Road – Cormac McCarthy

Book(s) you’re embarrassed to admit you have not read:
To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee (I’ve read half of it),
Fountainhead (read half of this too)
Grapes of Wrath.
Wizard of Oz would have been there too if I had not read it a month back. Thank god for that.

Book(s) you’ve been meaning to finish:
Freedom at Midnight – Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins.
Blood and Sand – Frank Gardener.

And of course the ones I am reading now.
